ONLY IF YOU ARE FAT.
Just about finished moving-in with my girlfriend today, thanks to help from my brother. At this point my desk is finished being assembled, boxes are put away, my big 4x6’ painting is on the wall and my drawing supplies are unearthed once again. My brother also gave me a 1TB HDD which I am going to install and format tonight… with the plan of installing Windows on it then transferring all my goodies onto it tomorrow. I’m kind of tired of juggling two small HDDs, where one is an IDE. I’ll still use one for backup though.
I forgot my Windows disc at my parent’s house so I will make a motorcycle ride there tonight to pick it up real quick. That’s my excuse for a short nighttime joyride.
Pic related: it’s a drawing of my bike I made last term to demonstrate how I enjoy strokessss

Cirque du Soleil is here in Eugene between the 8th and 12th of June, with their show called Dralion. I bought tickets for the 10th at 7:30pm at the beginning of the term and I have been impatiently waiting ever since then. I got tickets for my girlfriend and brother too, so they had to make arrangements to come up to Eugene. She’s already here (and still asleep), and my brother will be here probably within an hour. Before we go to the show, he’s taking us to a pretty nice seafood place.
And after all this, I get to go home since work and finals are done. Life’s good.

Today while at work, I serviced a site near a couple parked motorcycles and decided to take a close look out of my interest in them. I had been thinking about tires lately, specifically ones for mine, so I looked closely at the radials of the two bikes. And then, just before I was about to leave, I spotted a screw stuck halfway in the rear tire of one of the bikes…
I searched for a paper to leave a note for the owner. I did not want to pull the screw out because it was not my property to be touching and I could not leave the bike without notifying the owner in some way.
As I left a note, he arrived, and I showed him the screw. He ended up pulling it out and no air leakage was present, and he eventually rode off safely, but I couldn’t help but feel good about letting him know about the screw in his tire. Did I potentially save his life? Prevent a possible lowside from an unnoticed air-leak? Prevent an inconvenient flat tire in the morning? I do not know, but what I do know is that I felt like I had done a good deed.
Finals Week Spring 2011 starts now. I have a final in History of Design at 1:00pm on Monday afternoon and a final in Oregon Archeology on Wednesday morning. In the hours between, I work nearly the whole time, but none of this worries me…
…what worries me is how my drawing instructor has dropped-off the radar without having done the 20-minute individual review with me (and a few others too, I think). Normally this is done early-on Week 10, but he got busy, which is understandable, but communication after the fact has been pretty null. I gave him my availability times for Monday and he has not responded yet.
I’m not concerned about my grade or anything; I actually really want this 20-minute individual review to happen because I want to hear what he has to say and any more suggestions to leave me before I head off for the summer. I’ll see him again next Fall in Painting anyways.
Pic not really related. Time to study more.
I wanted to make some abstract art based on sound. One of these was made in my sketchbook real quick with a brick of graphite while listening and the other is an 18x24” remake. It is nice and relaxing to draw without the constraints of representation once in a while.

While walking home from class this morning, my mind wandered and imagined the cool winds of the overcast skies were coming from the ocean. I could almost smell the seawater.
Also today is my 22nd birthday; I’m going to spend it and the rest of the weekend back home. Should be fun.
Why the fuck when I right-click to save images in Firefox 4 on Tumblr, it defaults the image as a “Firefox Document” and not a fucking image format such as GIF, PNG, or JPEG?
WHAT THE FUCK!!
This happens with me too, mysteriously only “sometimes” though. I counter it by dragging the image onto the desktop instead. Annoying.
For some reason I decided to let my kitten Derp roam free throughout my entire apartment rather than just the livingroom today.
Suddenly I heard him scraping his claws over the face of my sketchbook which was sitting on my bed; that is what he does when he is done using the litterbox, and sure enough, he had urinated on my bed. He has not done that ever since the first couple nights I had him (since then I’ve kept him out of my room), so I figured he might have grown out of that act since he’s rather ‘fully’ litter-trained and such..
He is only 8 weeks old at this point, but when can I trust him?
